The Dornier Gemini is a multifunctional urological workstation designed for Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL), endourologic procedures (PCNL, URS), and general diagnostic fluoroscopy.
Shockwave Generation & Therapy Head
Shockwave Source: Electromagnetic Shockwave Emitter
Penetration Depth: Standard up to 170 mm penetration depth for treating obese or deep-set stone patients.
Therapy Head C-Arm: Revolves around the patient so treatment can occur in a comfortable supine position without needing patient repositioning
Coupling & Monitoring: Features an inflatable water bellows with optional integrated optical/video coupling control to monitor air bubbles at the patient contact point.
Image Intensifier:16-inch (approx. 40 cm) large-field image intensifier capable of full abdominal imaging (visualizing the entire urinary tract in a single fluoroscopic view)
X-Ray C-Arm Movement: Orbital movement with transverse, sagittal, and oblique (CC) projections to bypass bone shadows or intestinal gas overlay.
Continuous Tracking: Radiolucent therapy head design permits continuous real-time stone monitoring during C-arm rotation.
Display: Dual high-resolution flat-panel monitors mounted on flexible swivel arms.
Patient Table & System Ergonomics
Table Design: Motorized height adjustment and dual perineal cut-outs to maximize undertable access.
180° Rotating Top: Carbon fiber tabletop rotates 180° to provide an artifact-free imaging path for endoscopic procedures.
Parking Positions: Dedicated X-ray and ESWL parking positions for unobstructed, 360° patient access during patient transfer or ancillary bedside procedures (e.g., ultrasound-guided renal biopsy).
Controls: Footswitch and hand controls for table positioning and fluoroscopy.
Data & PACS Connectivity
Software: Integrated point-and-click software with automatic parameter recording and configurable treatment reports.
DICOM Services: Comprehensive DICOM connectivity including Worklist, MPPS, Query/Retrieve, Storage, and Print to integrate into hospital PACS networks.
